MHAC-MY urges you to support Michigan House Bill 4651 and Michigan Senate Bill 367, both of which would ban conversion therapy in Michigan.
The identical bills state the following: “A mental health professional shall not engage in conversion therapy with a minor. A mental health professional who violates this section is subject to disciplinary action and licensing sanctions for unprofessional conduct as provided under Sections 16221 and 16226 of the Public Health Code, 1978 PA 368, MCL 333.16221 and 333.16226.”

TELL MICHIGAN LEGISLATORS TO HAVE THESE BILLS HEARD IN COMMITTEES
Thank you all for your support of these two critical bills currently in the Michigan legislature.
Before we can see a vote on either of these bills, we must ensure these bills are passed through their respective health policy committees.
We need to demonstrate to these committee members that there is clear and overwhelming support for this proposal and that, given the lack of scientific evidence for conversion therapy, Michigan residents do not support its practice by mental health professionals.
